This evidence-based presentation will review the current concepts on the diagnosis and treatment of peri-implantitis. Etiology, prevention, and maintenance protocols will also be discussed. Although there is still much to learn about peri-implantitis, this presentation will make clear what we do know and how we can use this knowledge in our daily practice to enhance patient outcomes.
Goals
Examine current definitions and diagnostic criteria for peri-implant diseases.
Identify putative etiologic factors associated with peri-implantitis.
Evaluate various non-surgical and surgical treatment modalities for peri-implantitis.
Apply evidence-based strategies to prevent peri-implantitis.
Develop and implement maintenance protocols for managing peri-implantitis patients.
